Hoshino Therapy® Hoshino Therapy® is the art and science of hand therapy developed by Professor Tomezo Hoshino, born in Japan in 1910. As a doctor of acupuncture he found that in cases of arthrosis, acupuncture could offer only temporary relief. He originated a unique therapy that integrates the principles of acupuncture with the art of hand therapy. Dedicating his life to the treatment and prevention of arthrosis, Professor Hoshino succeeded in incorporating his therapeutic concepts into medical education. In his adopted homeland, Argentina, the Hoshino School was officially recognized by the Association of Kinesiology as a post graduate area of specialization. Here in the U.S.A. Bodhi F. Kocica, L.M.T., currently the Director of the Hoshino Therapy Clinic of Miami and National Director of the Hoshino Apprenticeship Program, studied directly with Professor Hoshino for over 20 years. Certification in Hoshino Therapy is offered to select licensed health professionals as a one-on-one apprenticeship in a clinical setting. The need for Hoshino Therapy® Today more and more people suffer from painful and disabling conditions that affect the moving parts of the body. These problems, which arise with advancing age, are to a great extent influenced by our sedentary life style and habits of poor posture and inadequate exercise. We develop uncoordinated movement patterns that cause muscles, tendons, and ligaments to contract and harden. This can result in pain and restricted movement. This process of hardening or aging of soft tissues is called arthrosis, and it is this condition that underlies soft tissue disorders such as bursitis, tendinitis, back pain, and muscular tension. When left uncorrected for a period of many years, such conditions may eventually lead to degenerative joint diseases such as osteoarthritis and spinal disc disorders. While symptoms of arthrosis most often appear after ages of 40 or 50, excessive use or misuse of body parts, such as in strenuous sports and work related stress, can also cause aging of soft tissues in younger age groups. Persons of almost any age whose body movement is restricted or impaired and who have not found relief in conventional forms of treatment, should seriously consider Hoshino Therapy®. Nothing surpasses the handssm The revitalizing of soft
tissues, the foundation of Hoshino Therapy®, is accomplished exclusively
through the hands. Evaluation of 250 "vital" points using digital
(thumb) pressure enable the therapist to detect hardened tendons and
ligaments and early stages of calcification long before they show up on
x-rays, as well as other abnormalities such as muscle atrophy, deformed
or immobile joints. In this way, the therapist discovers the true
location of the body disequilibrium that has brought on the pain or
disability somewhere in the patient's body. Dosage is
the art of applying deep, yet agreeable pressure to revitalize soft
tissues without causing discomfort to the patient. This is especially
important when treating painful areas. The skillful and sensitive hands
of the therapist stimulate selected points to create a deep, soothing
heat and increase blood flow that counteract the cold rigidity of the
affected parts. As tissue activity improves and stress on tissues is
relieved, pain tends to disappear. Coordination is restored in the
final phase of the therapy. As movement patterns return to normal,
stress on tissues and joints is minimized. Muscles regain their
elasticity, tendons and ligaments are drawn into their normal
positioning, and a normal range of movement is restored to the joints. Japanese Foot MassageJapanese Foot Massage is based on the healing science of foot relexology. The feet (and hands) are a complete micro-system of the body, with reflex points connecting to every part and organ of the bod. The application of digital pressure on precise locations on the feet is a therapeutic treatment for the feet as well as the entire body, enhancing relaxation, circulation, organ function and overall health.Traditional Chinese MedicineTraditional Chinese Acupuncture offers a holistic approach to wellness that is based on manipulating the body's vital energies through needling and moxibustion to bring about harmony of body, mind, and spirit. Only sterile, disposable needles are used.Chinese Herbal Consultation is based on traditional Chinese medicine diagnosis. Herbal formulas will be recommended that help to bring your body back into harmony and health.Energy HealingLAHOCHI HANDS-ON HEALING
Acu-Magnet TherapyWell known for their healing properties, magnets can be used to manipulate the body's energies by using the north or south pole polarity. In Acu-Magnet Therapy, tiny, but powerful neodymium magnets are taped directly over acupuncture points, utilizing the same principles as traditional needle acupuncture.Acu-Light Color TherapyBased on research that cells in the body communicate via light, this new healing system uses a color light pen with precision colored rods applied over acupuncture points or zones on the surface of the skin. Gentle enough for children, the therapy fuses the principles of acupuncture with color therapy to heal not only the physical body, but also the release of negative or subconscious patterns of behavior and bring about a harmony of the body, mind and spirit. Treatment programs include Detoxification and Lymphatic Drainage, Stress Reduction, Hormonal Balancing, Mother/Father deprogramming, Brain Harmonization, Immune Enhancement, Pain Relief, Prenatal Therapy, Dream Therapy, as well as symptomatic treatments.Workshops in Wellness and Self-HealingClasses and seminars in Chinese Qigong, Taiji, yoga, meditation and therapeutic movement promote wellness, self-healing and body-mind integration. |
